Founded in 1983 by Saul Sigal and Jody LaFontaine on the shores of  Duck Lake just north of Kelowna, Holiday Park Resort has grown from an empty field to a year round destination for travelers, vacationers, retirees and permanent residents. Over the years the resort's more than 3,000 members have been joined by visitors from around the world.

Dan, Saul’s youngest son, was originally Resort Manager and is now President & Team Coach.  Certified in land planning and real estate management and accredited by the American Resort Developers Association, Dan was Broker/Owner of the Resort’s former on-site real estate office, Sweetlife Realty Ltd.  In 2013 the sales office became Coldwell Banker Horizon Realty with an on-site licensed Realtor® providing service for Buyers and Sellers in the resort and throughout the Okanagan Valley.  Dan continues to oversee all Holiday Park operations, ensuring it remains an award-winning destination resort.

Sam Sigal, General Manager

Sam, Dan’s oldest son, is the 3rd generation Sigal to be operating this well-known, successful family business. After graduating with a BA in Natural Resource Protection, Sam worked with the Provincial Government as a wildland fire fighter and over the years, has worked on the Holiday Park Resort maintenance crew.  Now, along with a dedicated staff of  60 to 75 full and part time employees, Sam keeps the resort running smoothly.

History of the Landmark Boat

The Holiday Park sailboat was a 70 ton sailing ship along Highway 97 at Commonwealth Road.  In 1903 the historic Orchard City II ran charters and worked for sawmills on Okanagan Lake. The boat sank during a storm in 1948 and remained at the bottom of the lake for 30 years when it was salvaged and restored.  The boat served as the famous landmark for Holiday Park Resort until April 1, 2020 when tragically, our historic landmark was lost to fire.

This amazing wall hanging was gifted to the Sigal family and Holiday Park Resort by Mary-Lou Wightman, a local Lake Country resident.  The Wightmans and their family loved the boat - it was an important landmark they used all the time when giving directions to the many friends and visitors that came to see them over the years.  It is most definitely “Gone but not Forgotten”.

The wall hanging is displayed at our very own Blue Schooner Café in the Activity Centre.  Drop in, have a look and enjoy lunch at the Blue Schooner while you're here!

Painted Peace Art Pole

A beautiful Painted Peace art pole created by Stephanie Burgess now resides in Holiday Park Resort's gazebo and picnic area for all to enjoy.

You'll see it by the Exit route, on your way in or out of the resort, or drop by on your daily walk.  This colorful art pole bears a message we can all appreciate!
